INFOMATION
Anyone who lives, works, or goes to school in Kanazawa can borrow books.
According to a special lending agreement, people who live in Matto, Uchinada, Nonoichi, Tsubata, Tsurugi, and Kahoku can also borrow books.
To Register
- Fill out application form and show some identification, such as an alien registration card, an insurance card, a driver's license, or a student ID.
To Borrow Books
- Bring the books and your library card to the counter.
- Up to 10 books can be lent per person for two weeks.
To Return Books
- Return only the books you borrowed to the return counter.
- When the library is not open, put books into the books drop.
- Books can be also returned to Tamagawa, Izumino, Johoku, and Heiwamachi Libraries and the Library Bookmobile.
*Please note that books borrowed from the libraries of Kanazawa City cannnot be returned to Matto, Uchinada, Nonoichi, Tsurugi, Tsubata, Kahoku Libraries and Ishikawa Prefectural Library.
When You Cannot Find Books
Notes
- If you lose or damage a book, you must replace it.
- Since parking space is limited, please use other transportation whenever feasible, particularly on Saturdays and Sundays.
Reservation Service
As for the Books that have been checked out or books that are available only in other libraries of Kanazawa City can be requested.
- Please search for availability of books by terminals for users.
(As for the books that libraries do not house, please ask for request service)
- Please fill out your name, phone number, and the library card number in the application form.
- Please fill out the title of a book in the application form, or print out the detailed information of the book by a terminal.
- Please bring it to the service counter along with the application form.
- Please allow us to take time for confirmation.
- We will notify you, when the requested book is returned or arrived from other libraries.
*Please come to pick up the books within 1 week after you are notified.
*Please keep in mind the reservation could be cancelled if you do not pick up the books after a certain period.
*Please allow us to put your name on the waiting list in case the requested book has been checked out.
*Please keep in mind the maximum number of books you can request is 10, because the number of books you can check out at a time is up to 10.
Request Service
You can make a request up to five books for a purchase that the libraries do not house.
- Please check a book by terminals for users in the libraries.
- Please fill out the application form for the request at the counter.
- One person can make a request for a purchase of up to five books a year.
- The books will be considered for purchasing.
- With regard to expensive, technical and out-of-print books, we will offer the books borrowed from other municipal libraries or universities' libraries. Please understand that the libraries can not offer it in some cases.
- Please understand that when we have to borrow it from other libraries it may take several days or more.
*Any resident or commuter to office or school in Kanazawa city with register of the libraries is eligible for the request service.
