Anyone who lives, works, or goes to school in Kanazawa can borrow books.
According to a special lending agreement, people who live in Hakusan, Kahoku, Tsubata, Uchinada and Nonoichi can also borrow books.
Before You Borrow
- Fill out an application from and show some identification, such as
an alien registration card, an insurance card, a driver's license, or
a student ID.
- Your library card can be used at Izumino Library, Tamagawa Library,
Johoku Branch Library, as well as Heiwamachi Children's Library.

To Borrow Books
- Bring the books and your library card to the counter.
- Up to 10 books can be lent per person for two weeks.
To Return Books
- Return only the books you borrowed to the return counter.
- When the library is not open, put books into the book drop at the left side of the front entrance.
- Books can be also returned to Tamagawa, Johoku, and Heiwamachi Libraries and the Library Bookmobile.
- Please note that books borrowed from Izumino Library cannot be returned to Hakusan, Kahoku, Tsubata, Uchinada or Nonoichi Libraries.
When You Cannot Find Books
- Please feel free to ask a librarian for help. Reservations and requests are also possible.
For Study and Research
- Materials and CD-ROMs for study and research are available in the Reference Room. Feel Free to consult with a librarian about your special interest.
- To find information on the culture/society of other countries, visit the World Information Room.
About Audio-Visual Materials
- Movies, animation, and music are available in the A-Zones for adults and kids.
- Select the disired program using the audio-visual reservaion terminals.
Requests from Izumino Library
- If you lose or damage a book, you must replace it.
- To borrow books or use audio-visual materials and other facilities,
you must show your library card ( L card ).
- Since parking space is limited, please use other transportation whenever feasible, particulary on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays.
