Izumino Library PUBLIC FLOOR


The main floor of the library is in the wellhole style, with a 20 metre-high ceiling. Its large tables and wide sofas provide users with a relaxing reading environment.
70,000 general interest books, 20,000 books for young adults, as well as 13 different newspapers, and 250 kinds of magazines are at your disposal.
World Information Room

Here you can find books and magazines about countries all over the world, and use videos and laser disks. This area also has publications related to the countries bordering on the Japan Sea, as well as information in the languages of Kanazawa's sister cities. For library users from abroad, there is a collection of English publications, as well as magazines from various countries.
A United Nations depository library is also located in this room.
Free Internet access is available, and there is a CD-ROM study and research area.


Reference Room

Here you can find all kinds of reference publications useful for research, including information on the Kanazawa area.


Young Adult Area

This area provides books of particular interest to teenagers.


A-Zone

In this area you can enjoy any of the 5,000 videos, laser disks and CDs that are available. An automated reservation system allows you to know the exact time a booth will become available.


Recitation Room for the Visually Impaired

Library publications are recited in this room for the visually impaired. A mailing service of braille books and recorded books is also available.


L-Cafe

This is the place to go when you'd like to take a break from reading, or have a chat with a friend.
